About Us

Cantsfield Danes are totally committed to the breeding and development of quality Blue and Black Great Danes. Our approach to breeding is based on our love for these animals and to further develop the breed in the UK and of course our own bloodline.

Cantsfield Danes have been living and working with Danes since 1983, although initially this was in an owning capacity. However, it more recently became clear that there was a requirement to breed fine Blues and Blacks as the majority of UK breeders seemed to be concentrating their efforts on Fawns, Brindles and Harlequins.

Cantsfield Danes are fun loving country dogs, and are bred for quality and temperament. All Puppies are born in the family home and do not seem to be phased by the noise of everyday goings on, and although they live with us, they are not pampered and enjoy the freedom to roam the house grounds and gardens.

Bred and brought up in the country, they are fed a quality diet and are both mentally and physically very stable and calm as unruly Danes can prove quite a handful. They are brought up in a loving and caring environment with all the family ‘mucking-in’.

Our prime aim is to breed fit, healthy, well balanced and well put together dogs with outstanding head pieces, rock solid toplines and superior movement that would be equally at home in the show ring, out with the family or out on the farm.
